I'm more confused by "artisanal" water.

In would get a blood panel done. It is possible to get a bacterial infection or microscopic parasites from human or animal feces that the water could contain. Next time boil your own water.

Folks. Please don’t use tap water in the Neto pot without boiling it first. I have a couple of fish tanks and know first hand of the worms that are present in our tap water.

I have more confidence in my nasal passages than you do in yours, maybe.

This is the stupidest thing I've read today

It's probably fine. The chances of amoebas in bottled water is quite low. But boil the water in the future or use distilled. And add salt and baking soda--you want saline rather than water to reduce discomfort and inflammation. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/common-cold/expert-answers/neti-pot/faq-20058305 has the measurements.

You only breathing sterilized air right now, correct?

Dont worry about what you've done but dont do it again. Eeither use distilled water or boil and then cool tap water. Its pretty simple.

You'll be fine. But I've been neti-ing for 20 years and I always boil the water first and then let it cool.

Remember it’s a roiling boil for 5 minutes.

If you have PAM you will know within 2 weeks.

There is nothing to be done, so just don’t think about it.

It’s extremely low risk. But just get distilled water and take it off the table.

This makes no sense. The risk is in having amoeba in the water. It's not a build up over time.

I guess so. I use boiled tap for my Neti pot but having witnessed the parasites that tap water introduces to my fish tanks, I would never use it un boiled in my nasal passages.
