these are about middle school magnets, not HS magnets. those are based on merit.

My non-magnet kid and my magnet kid had the teacher I think you’re talking about. Both said the teaching was not good. We hired a tutor for one and that solved the problem. The second watched videos from various sources. Basically, you need to go to outside resources of some type.

we aren't talking about TPMS. There has never been a lottery at Blair..

NP. The ES and MS programs are lotteries of qualified students. The HS magnets are not.

This piece does not relate to the Blair magnet.

The 2017 changes to admissions procedures came after a report to the school board in 2016 found disparities in enrollment and acceptance rates at the four magnet programs, with white and Asian students admitted at greater rates than their peers. The programs are at Roberto Clemente Middle, Martin Luther King Jr. Middle, Takoma Park Middle and Eastern Middle.
