It is also odd that everyone assumes OP picked the garage. It is totally possible that OPs spouse picked the garage. DH and I divide and conquer on stuff like that all the time.

Sounds like it was an issue with spot hero. I have had other issues with spot hero and what OP describes seems totally believable to me.

This is what I’d do. Leave tomorrow via Amtrak or bus if you have a Tuesday flight. One person stays behind until the roads are passable, or someone comes back later for the car on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Sorry, OP. At least there are worst places to be stuck than NYC?

I booked it through spot hero and honestly it wasn’t apparent until we scrolled way down to garage hours. It laid out the oversize vehicle fee, no in/out, etc but the garage hours weren’t on the check out screen. I’ve booked spot hero several times and never encountered this.

We tried this as well! Most of the Amtrak are cancelled Monday. Have one at 2 PM that isn’t cancelled yet bit not holding out hope.


There are several Amtrak trains still running that route. I’m monitoring because I’m scheduled to take one.

Presumably because OP was not aware the garage was closed on weekends? Duh.
It's easy to get confused as a visitor to NYC.

This is OP - I am watching those as well. I am trying to balance the desire not to miss the Tuesday flight against some very nice, expensive broadway show tickets! Ugh.
