Westover in Arlington. This TH feeds cardinal elementary which is walkable. Farmers market on Sundays, tons of kids and families at the library and school playground.

The budget is really $1.1 per OP and at that much you're looking at choosing walkability or space basically anywhere else. But also not entirely sure what's wrong with either place unless you have a huge preference for Rockville mcmansions which is a totally fine preference but it's also a very different lifestyle.. No one's getting like 3000 sq ft and walking distance in Bethesda for that price. Nor WOTP. Not frankly in Takoma or Shepherd Park.

The only places with anything walkable anyone mentioned are Takoma Park and Glover Park in DC. If that's not a priority then absolutely, some of the other places will not only get you good schools but more space. Which is absolutely valid. But I have absolutely no idea what you're walking to or around in most of these places.

But if you do want walkable with communities where you'll walk around running into neighbors then those are it.

20852 townhomes have great walkability and great schools.North Bethesda. Just South of pike and rose.

There is a huge new townhome development coming up in Rockville called The Grove. Not sure what schools they are zoned to but the houses look nice.

(well, it is walkable for an adult, its 40 min to RTC. but i dont consider that walkable) the neighborhood itself has pool and gym and its nice to walk around it
