I rarely see men carrying laptops to and from work.
Absolutely everyone takes their laptops to and from work; this take is bonkers. No, you can't use your personal iPad for work.
I throw my purse-stuff in my bigger work tote (wallet, keys, etc.) and then I have a pouch in my work tote with some duplicate handbag/purse items (tampons, band aids, lip balm, hand cream, nail file, etc.). This makes it so the only things I have to switch back and forth are my wallet, keys, and phone. Sometimes I do take an extra tote for a change of shoes, extra coat/sweater, big water bottle, etc.

I also carry a smaller bag with my phone, wallet etc - my latest is a YSL puffer

This, but my smallish zip pouch has a removable crossbody strap. So if I go out to lunch or want to run an errand over lunch or on my way home, I can just carry the zip pouch and not the entire tote.
Me three. But, I always have a another bag as well, my lunch bag. I pack lunch every day...
