Nothing announced on their website.

Trying to plan child care or even considering a long weekend trip.
we should have it off to honor President Carter he was a good man and he helped build a lot of your people your homes for the low income so why not honor this guy? Could you whining and find babysitters just like the rest of us who’s willing to do that

Your kids have no flipping idea who Carter was. Perhaps if they went to school they might learn about him.

I am an old school liberal, and though it pains me to say this, Carter was NOT a good president. Come on.

They can honor him while they go to school.

I grant you that middle America doesn’t need the school day off, but nearby counties do as people will be traveling to DC to visit the Capitol to mourn.

Nonsense.
No one "needs" school off to travel to mourn. Mourn at home or go during the school day.

Not sure what planet you’re on, but FCPS was closed for Veterans Day last month. I know because we had our school ceremony on Friday, November 8. We couldn’t do it on the 11th because school was closed.
This is relatively new.

No, FCPS does not take unscheduled federal holidays off. In previous years, we have not had Veteran's Day off. This was the first school year that the kids didn't have school on Veteran's Day while I've had kids in FCPS.
