It's one thing to be in a (temporary) mood for XYZ food,, but not to the point of obsession.

We all have ADHD. If you don’t have adhd, you wouldn’t get it.

Then Op should have mentioned from the start. It's not an all encompassing post.

OP here. As far as I know, I do not have ADHD! It’s possible, but I’m in good health and spirits, so the last time I went to the doctor, I just needed a flu shot and routine bloodwork. If I do have it, it’s not bothering me. And I kind of like my weird food fixations!

You could always be a high functioning autist. Or be mildly afflicted with Pathological Demand Avoidance. The spectrum is infinite, once you start examining the fractal.

I get stuck on certain soups for a couple of years at a time. I make a specific soup at least weekly except in the summer. It used to be mushroom barley, then broccoli spinach, now lentil veggie. There was a black bean kick for a while too.

ADHD is just neurodivergence OP lmao. You can have it and be in good spirits and good health, it isn’t a degenerative disease.

Could be!

Yes, I was on a sardine kick all summer. Now that it's fall, chili.

Can you post the recipe?

Sure! Taylor Farms Sweet Kale bagged mix, toss the dressing. 1 Tbl. Girard raspberry dressing. Whatever berries I have on hand. Handful of TJ’s lightly covered chocolate almonds. Mix and enjoy. I have coffee for breakfast, eat that for lunch and a light dinner of whatever I serve my family (protein/veggie, maybe a little starch).

Exercise 5-6 days a week, move and lift.

I’m finally back within normal BMI for the first time since my second child was born 11 years ago. It’s not fun, but I needed to start prioritizing my health.

Fennel lady here and no one has ever suggested I have ADHD. Like ever. If I do, then this must be the sole symptom / trait!

Maybe because she doesn't know. But as people have already mentioned on this thread, it's a very ADHD thing to do, so people who make that connection find it obvious. And you should stop griping

I don’t care if it’s typical or not, but food fixations are how I’ve perfected recipes over the years. I’ll try something at a restaurant, and I will figure out how to make it at home. I love it and my neighbors do, too, because when I get on a baking kick, they reap the rewards.
