At BWI I always park even if it costs more. It's quite far from my house and one time, with surge pricing at 9:00 after a delay, it cost $165.00. That was it. Even the Uber driver told me to drive next time. Of course, I rarely if ever travel for longer than a week.

I take the metro to DCA and at Dulles I park in long term parking because it's really not so far there.

+1 We will often Uber to the airport, but taxi home.

I usually Uber to the airport and cab home. It's easy to schedule the Uber for when I need to head to the airport, and then when I'm going home it's easier to go to the cab line, where there is usually not much of a wait. I prefer this to having to deal with parking and driving. I get in the Uber/cab, give a polite greeting to the driver, and then put in my earbuds for the rest of the trip.

Yes I would. I’m happier in my car than in an Uber. Worth it to me. But it’s a personal preference so you pick what’s best for you.

Same. We are outside Boston and you get a cheaper rate if you reserve ahead of time.

Agree. I land at Dulles a lot and it takes FOREVER for them to stop taking at the cell phone lot, get in the car, drive to the pickup area. I park at the terminal instead, especially since work is paying.

In my driveway for 5 mins with my kids jumping around excited to see me. Painful five minutes!! But now the cabs do the credit card quicker. So I’d suggest trying Washington flyer if you’re out of Dulles.

What do you have against a taxi cab?

Schedule the uber ahead of time. We did this recently for a flight that landed at BWI at midnight. After a long day of travel, it was a relief to just grab our bags and have the car waiting almost immediately.

I really mix it up. I’m also finding that taxi is now often cheaper or the same price because Uber will have high demand pricing whereas the taxis always cost the same. I think Uber has lost the shine for a lot of drivers and they just don’t have as many as they once did so you wait more and the prices are higher.
I have allergies so have a slight preference for my own car — it’s too often I get a ride and I’m allergic to the persons perfume.

At our airport parking gets nuts over the holidays. Only reason we ever take an Uber. Other times we park at airport.
