I based myself in Siena. I did not want a car, due to the challenges of driving and parking, plus my desire to see the scenery and go wine tasting. Therefore, I took two full day tours to the hill towns, which left from Siena. They included rare opportunities:like dinnner with a family on their farm. We stayed at a Radda in Chianti AirBNB in Tuscany with a car rental for part of our Italian trip. We did several day trips from that location. It was a former farm turned AirBNB to make a profit.

We loved Modena. It was easy to park in town and do day trips.
