We did passport photos at CVS and I think it was $16 (our passport appointment was at a location that didn't offer photo services) so it seems like you may as well just do them at the PO and save yourself a trip.

One thing to note is that you need to pay the fee separately to the State Department and the acceptance facility, so make sure you have enough checks with you.

Yes to everything except I would get photos done elsewhere in case. For anyone with more than one kid, getting at the kids on the same passport expiration cycle is really helpful, especially if you live in an area where it’s a pain to get an appointment.

I did this as an adult. Yes.

I see you wrote 'their'. You didn't ask this but I will bring it up anyway. If you're applying for a passport with gender marker X I'd do it ASAP and expedite.

And Trump may still try declare it invalid.

Make sure you have two copies of adult identification too (passport or ID or whatever). They need to attach one copy to each kid's application.
