I always use Washington flyer for early flights. Never had issues.

We pre booked an uber on Dec 31 from Potomac to Dulles this morning Jan 1 for 5 am. Driver was early and ride was only $45.

Same. Have never had a problem--even the day the driver's power steering went out the moment we pulled away, another car was there quicly.
They use a voicemail reservation system but it's actually good and efficient.

That said, FROM the airport I've had better luck with uber lately.

A lady called Girlie Transportation on Nextdoor will pick up anytime early am to IAD is $85

Book 2 different vendors and pay the cancellation penalty if necessary. I missed a flight when cab never showed.

(If that happens to you, do NOT call airline to cancel. They will just charge you a change fee. If you show up late, you'll get free standby.)

We just used Washington Flyer with a 6am pickup and they texted ahead of time to say they were on the way. Price was reasonable.

My experience is cabs rend to be way more expensive than Uber/Lyft.
