Also your glove box has your address in it, if that’s where you keep your registration.

Do not let this guy see your license plate number.

NO.

The area he lives in isn't really walkable. I don't know how anyone could live there without a car. I understand he's brand new in town, but who'd go out on dates before even settling down?
Maybe I'm being judgy or overthinking, but this starts to feel odd to me. I don't want a stranger in my car.
Anyone has run into the same issue?

When I did OLD getting in a car with a dare or even getting close to a dates car was a hard pass. I wasn’t getting stuffed into anyone’s trunk. Getting stuffed into your own trunk sounds even more filling. A girls got to protect herself. Beware the Truck Stuffers!

No. First in person dates are in public spaces. You don't let someone you don't know into your car.

I know I know I am a sexist so come at me....it's embarrassing for a man to ask a woman for a ride on a first date.

He can take Lyft, Uber, Waymo, a taxi, rent a car, etc.

+1 It’s weird and fishy.

No…women are desperate for a date.

To me, Not having a car is not a red flag. FYI Many successful grown men from Boston or NYC do not have cars or are comfortable driving. however Not being resourceful enough to get to the date probably would be a red flag to me.

If he’s new to the country he may not drive or it may take a while to get up to speed on our driving/DMV laws. He may currently be in the process of getting a car/license/insurance.

OP, If you really like this guy, I would not run. I’d take the time to get to know the why.

It’s good to be judgy when dating. You’re not obligated to date anyone you don’t want to.

And the not having a car AND asking you for a ride is such a turnoff. Gross.

Unmatch/block and move on.

I'd run from that. I'm a man and I had a date with a woman who lived in NOVA. I let her pick the restaurant and assumed we would meet there. She texted, no, you have to pick me up. The date was a total disaster and I won't get into the details of why but her not having a car should have been my first clue. It did strike me as a red flag, but I ignored it. You should not and you are right to question it. Or do you want to date someone you will have to drive around all the time, including helping him run his errands?
