Do you mean universal studios Hollywood? In order to get an experience similar to the express pass, you have to get a package that’s in the thousands of dollars pp per day at Disney. USF you can do it for hundreds. But go this year. Next year, when the new universal experience opens, I expect it will be very crowded and prices will increase. I also expect eventually universal will come up with an express system more similar to Disney, and eventually the hotel passes will end.

It’s in the operating agreement for those hotels. Obviously Universal has not offered it on any new hotels like Sapphire Falls or Grand Helios. But no one knows how long Loews is allowed to offer the unlimited express. I’m sure for now it’s a contractual obligation.

We stayed at Portofino for $600/night to get the Express Passes for no additional fee, but the place reeked of ‘dog’ with air freshener on top of that—-all the way down the halls! It was over powering stink! There was lots of noise late at night and into the morning from kids up partying. It was awful. Would not recommend.
