Super spicy Korean chicken stew with carrots, sweet potato, or super spicy Korean tofu stew. And lots of kimchi. Which is what I often make for my family anyway, but my husband can’t tolerate a lot of spice, so I dial it way up when it’s just me.

If I'm in a bad way I might buy really expensive chocolate from that place in Tysons that sells bark for like $30 a pound or something ridiculous like that and eat it with a glass of wine.

Why do you think the Asian Mart would have fewer parasites in their salmon?

I have a couple go-tos:

a tremendous pile of very vinegary sauteed red cabbage with maple caramelized onions which I usually eat with a little bit of mashed potatoes or mac and cheese

sushi

kimchi with some sort of rice bowl as a vehicle to eat the kimchi

I love sweet, vinegary things and my family is fine with vinegar but I could never serve this stuff as a meal with them.

What's wrong with ordering pizza? Are you saying you never order pizza for your family? It has to be a deep dark hidden secret?

I don't think it is safe, unless it is sushi grade.

Sushi grade isn't really a thing.

Salmon for sushi is different.

Salmon is a fish known for harboring microscopic parasites. Sushi grade salmon means it's frozen at sub-zero temperatures for a specific length of time to kill any potential parasites. Otherwise it's about as safe to eat raw as ground beef from the grocery store.

I eat alone every night.

That is not as fun and decadent as you amateurs make it out to be.
