That is what happened in our family too. There is nothing you can really do except move on.

I stopped at 21.
We send his kids popup birthday cards.

Yes, each kid has "aged out" in their own time in our family. They're all aware of it and understand.

My siblings stopped at different times for my kids. The last is holding out to age 21, which feels long/unnecessary (but is nonetheless appreciated). My opinion is that anywhere from 13 to 18 is reasonable, depending on the relationship.

Yeah, talk to your sibling and tell them you are not buying Christmas gifts.

My spouse is an only child, but I talked to my sister and said we aren't buying for your two kids and you don't have to buy for my two kids.

We did this when everyone was in middle school. Growing up, I got birthday gifts from my aunts and uncles probably through college, but Christmas gifts stopped around the same age too.

I’ve been wondering the same as OP. But also thing you need to stop for all kids whenever you decide. Weird to give to some kids but not others in the family. My nieces and nephews are younger than my kids so it feels weird for me to stop first.

We stopped when they graduated college.

One aunt (of my seven) still gets me a Christmas gift—I’m 38–but once I was out of college, I got one for her as well.

I will gift my nieces their whole lives because I only have two. My husband’s side has 5 and I’ll leave it to him when he stops gifting.
