This is pretty much my all time fave food.

standing rib roast
Yorkshire pudding
mashed potatoes
gravy
roasted green beans
sweet and sour braised red cabbage
salad (every holiday we have a salad my grandmother always made with baby lettuce, red onion, pomegranate seeds, citrus which is usually grapefruit sections, blue cheese, and a vinaigrette)

I don't know about dessert, but I've been eyeing that pretty cranberry curd tart thing from the NYT -- so pretty and festive

Ham, stuffing, rice pilaf, sweet potatoes and apples, green bean casserole, corn, rolls, and applesauce. Our Christmas is always small, but includes a few family members who don’t get home cooked food much, so Christmas is a mash up of “traditional” dinner and favorite foods. Dessert is a toss up. Sometimes just Christmas cookies, sometimes something like cheesecake. I and a few of the “kids” (now young adults) like to bake so we discuss and assess our energy level and go from there. One year we made a Yule log that was fun.
