I have decided I'm going to start again on the DNF books that I've kept in the house (the bad ones I threw out / put in free little libraries) and any book that I loved 10+ yrs ago and kept, but only remember that I loved it at the time and nothing else.

So I will hopefully have an inexpensive year books wise.

All my favorite authors are dead anyway, its not like Philip Roth or Helen Dunmore are going to put anything new out this year.

Just an idea for those who like to set a goal. I stopped setting a goal for how many books I read and switched to a page number goal. It helped my brain shift from thinking I'd "wasted" time if I don't finish a book and I wasn't intimidated by longer books. It's worked well for me.

This is me too. My only plan this year is to be a lot more deliberate in my choices. I only got back into books a couple of years ago, after a decade+ hiatus of little kids and pandemic. This has meant that my reading choices have become very very random and impulsive as my habits shifted and seriously just my baseline knowledge about authors/books fell off--with a lot of DNF as a result.

Luckily I *own* a significant number of the books on my "to read" list so really it should be pretty easy to curate and stick to a list!
