My kids love their grandparents and spend plenty of time with them. We see them or FaceTime both sets 1-2x a week. There is a balance though where we also want some trips and some holidays to create memories as a nuclear family.
FTR - We spend Christmas Eve and dinner on Christmas Day with one set of grandparents and drive to visit the other set 12/27-30 every year.
And for the haters who don’t think 12/27-30 is “good enough”, that window includes my MIL’s BD and to her, that is the most important day of the season!

The OP of one thread today specified she's seeing her parents on the 24th, and she doesn't want to see her in-laws on the 25th. Seems reasonable in this context to offer the 26th. I did not see a recent thread where OPs were truly unfair to their in-laws.

NP. I'm guessing if you really are Gen X you'll be spending some holidays alone in your future.
I talk to my kids about why we aren't with grandma (only one left) on the holidays. I tell them if you are mean and a liar and take no accountability for treating people badly, you end up alone. I am not ready to talk to them about narcissism but in the future I will so they can hopefully avoid the fate of my poor father who was a nice man and married her and was miserable for decades.
