I LOVE speed cameras ever since I read a paper last year that cited a study claiming democrats were disproportionately receiving speed camera tickets. I think they’re fantastic.

One was when lights were flashing but kids were not in school. I fought it in court.
Won.
Did not have to pay the speeding fine for $100.
Still had to pay $100 in court costs.
I do not speed anymore and drive like 15mph near them. One person passed me across the the double yellow, set it off; I got fined. Sucks.
Literally you can see the car passing me in the photo but to got to court you still pay the same price and waste like 3 hours of your life.

GTFOOH PP, you drive perfectly all the time![]()
NP but I’ve been driving 25 years and never had an accident my fault or been pulled over. Never got a speed camera ticket. Once got a parking ticket because I forgot about street sweeping. It’s really not hard.

We’re close to a school, and have had several pedestrian-vehicle accidents with injuries. Fines are now doubled because that’s better than having kids hit by speeding cards walking to school.
Why don’t you just slow down?
They changed the limit and it's now 20 mph on one side of the school zone and 25 mph on the other. It's hard to know what the speed limit is if Arlington County keeps changing it.
Are there no signs posted?
Yes, but they keep changing the limits. It's also on a street that there isn't a school technically (school is up hill and this is street behind it) so it doesn't look like a school zone.
Can you read the signs? Like as your driving can’t you just look at the signs? If it’s 25 and you are driving at least 11 over that’s 44% over the limit and not insignificant. Just drive 25 and in either zone you won’t get a ticket.
