we went to miami in Dec for the orange bowl and it was 45 degrees!! unusual but it happens.

Two years ago, it was cold in Florida! It was the week after Christmas when it was like 19 here. Definitely not pool weather!

Last year SIL took her family to the Keys and while it was not frigid they couldn’t swim and that was a bummer. No one should count on the weather in FL Dec-Feb. Even very south Florida. It’s great for living there, but not vacationing.

I mean, it might not be lay on the beach weather, but you can have a great vacation this time of year. There is so much to do outside and for once, it's not scorching hot!

You could go kayaking in the many springs, hiking in state parks, outdoor gardens in bloom, horseback and atv riding, fishing, minor league sports events, it's really a great time of year. I live in Tampa Bay and this week has been gorgeous-it's been 'cool' .

Rooms are $1200-$1300 a night during those dates.

Only $1700 per ticket.
Key west is $1100
FLL is about 1/2 that.
PBI and MIA are about $700
Fort meyers around $1000

Hotel rooms will be insane too

I like what you did there but Bermuda will be cold and even Bahamas is not as reliably warm as places further south.

Done a Bahamas Christmas cruise twice, it was warm enough both times to comfortably be in the water and wear tank tops. It sticks around mid 70s.

Good luck to you!!!

But you know when we did Dec break in Palm Springs CA, we were able to go swimming in the Airbnb pool we had. Maybe 2018?

Good luck heading anywhere to islands as most will be booked/airfares will be crazy high. I would try Costa Rica, Belize, Nicaragua - maybe lucky in Latin America otherwise, take a number

Cancun is direct flight, under 5 hours.
I would go back again.

See where there are flights and hotels for your date. You’re basically looking at South America and the Caribbean that are relatively close and warm.

Yep. You have to leave the continental US if you want a guarantee at the end of Dec.
