I was excited to hear that President Trump is open to the idea of being the next Pope.

This would truly be a dark horse candidate, but I would ask the papal conclave and Catholic faithful to keep an open mind about this possibility!

Yes. He was not kissing up to Trump until they played golf. Then, a 180 in how Graham talked about Trump. Graham has been a lapdog ever since.

If you go back and look at Graham’s quotes about Trump, you can see his criticisms of Trump ceased after he played golf with Trump. I suspect a threat was stated during the game.

So I don’t take Graham seriously. He’s an old man trying to cling onto his secrets.

Trump also wants to cling on—anything to avoid more court cases.

Lindsey Graham is a major party national level politician and just like Biden and Trump, his election campaigns have received a noticeable portion of donations from parties with close to ties to Israel. Post after post, thread after thread I see people questioning our government's unwavering commitment to supporting Israel. It's always the same reason. As long as GOP and Dem politicians are running our government, we will continue to lean heavily in the favor of Israel with our Middle East foreign policy. I'm baffled by those that vote for Dem and GOP candidates and then question the US's loyalty to Israel. It's all about money, folks.

It's also about Iran. Basically the US is predisposed to back Israel as a foothold in the US from which they can advance US interests in the region (and also collect intel and sometimes use Israel to do or say things the US can't do or say without being accused of meddling. But yes then the massive Israel lobby in the US spends tons of money to keep US politicians from both parties in their pocket.

What's interesting is that Trump is not as influenced by either force -- he's less worried about Iran (because he is stupid) and he's not as susceptible to the Israel lobby because he has other funding sources. Yet he remains hugely pro-Israel. I guess for him it's about being anti-Arab? Or maybe just real affection for Netanyahu who is his spiritual twin (though Bibi is sadly much smarter).

There's nothing mysterious. "Supporting Israel" has been broadly popular for 70 years, particularly among Republicans. And Republicans have an instinctual and visceral distrust of the UN. Plus the UN has no credibility when it comes to Israel, Gaza, and the West Bank. UNWRA in Gaza was effectively an arm of Hamas. Lindsay Graham is not losing any support because of his stance.

I suspect Russia is blackmailing most Republican politicians at this point because they are just crazy and everyday they seem to have a new sex scandal, especially with children

I mean, it's not even a secret. It's honestly pathetic at this point.

I also feel sad for him that he can't live his authentic life in the open.
