I would fill it out honestly. My view is that if the club does not know, they can't change things. If the club does know and chooses not to, that's another story, but I would try to give them the chance.
All of that being said, I've never seen a survey from our club. I wish they would send one! I give kudos to those who do.

People don't fill it out cause they are worried about reprisal. Most clubs have a way to make these anonymous, but some systems don't allow for full anonymity.

With large clubs as with most large organizations, they are mostly looking for trends. One person complaining in a survey isn't going to really raise a red flag.

1/2 a team complaining about a coach, now you're getting somewhere.

In the long run you're only hurting yourself and the club (if they are really trying to honestly use the feedback) by not providing honest feedback.

Think to yourself, if I'm worried about reprisal, is this the right club for my family?.. easy answer, to which I then ask, if that's the case Why are you still there?

Exactly, it’s not anonymous. I’m not filling it out at all because I don’t want this to affect my kid. They use these surveys only to know who is the “complainer” and “trouble-maker”. They will not make any changes and will not give you a new coach, keep dreaming.

Yeah i knew it won't be Anonymous. So I put my name on it, I also answered honestly. Hopefully others do the same.

SYC is doing fine. Can you see the ranks?

Yep, great at kickball at U15. Come U19 that approach is useless, and you have no kids prepared for the next level. Enjoy it now!

Yes, but this is like living in an Ivory Tower. Which is the step that occurs before issues arise. SYC or any club that is doing well in the standings that does not consider feedback, will have problems.

Some of these bigger clubs have grown in last few years but haven't grown their organizational support staff to meet all of the expectations that go along with running a business. Feedback is key in understanding needed changes to keep customer base happy. Clubs have become very complex and the needs of its customers have grown as well and they expect more than what was done in prior years.

It's a balance imo. To expand a staff, it takes money and money comes from club fees, whether that be increasing the fees and/or increase the # of players on a roster which in turn may impact playing time. Also, do you want to expand the staff or possibly increase the pay to retain good coaches to help develop younger players? It's all about expectation.

McLean looks for the parents that write negative things about coaches so they can blackball the players and drop them from the team. It's crazy

Ding, ding, ding! So far no request for feedback. We don't have many gripes, but they should at least ask for feedback. Maybe over winter break yet?
