The performance management system is archaic and Rich mandates that 15-20% of associates fail each year. He believes turnover is the key to success. As such, a lot of politics, ass kissing, game playing, and back stabbing in order to survive. I worked there for 4 years and am soooooo glad I left (and much “healthier” now).

Yes, it’s all true. It’s toxic.

Spouse works there. Sadly, all of the above is true. The performance review system is worse than Hunger Games.

It also depends on the team. The culture in Audit is way different than a Tech team in Card.

A lot of them also have no basis of comparison. It’s the only company they’ve worked for so they don’t know any different.

Serious question. What companies in the DC area have comparable pay and benefits and a better culture? I’ve worked at Capital One and a few other companies and didn’t see a huge difference. Maybe I’m applying to the wrong companies or missing something.

I didn’t have a negative experience at Wells Fargo and their pay/benefits were comparable.

Wells Fargo has a terrible reputation for how they treat employees.

Ya, I have seen it. Bosses openly harass employees and some of them sleep with them too. Very common at Richmond location.

BS

Cap one uses the jack Welsh model

They don’t keep talent
And if you have a crappy boss forget about raises
And make sure to only take a job with them in February because of the way bonuses work if you get one at all
Boys club
Admin used like trash managers make them charge dinners out instead of the manager putting it on their cards. It’s just gross.
