OP. Yup. I thought he had moved on from the aliens stuff but the last couple weeks it came out again. And now I’m especially worried he’s falling for very obvious hoaxes AND he gets irrationally angry at me for not agreeing.

Weirdly enough, this is sort of a trend where he’ll become obsessed with something and get angry if my opinion differs. A couple years ago he became obsessed with the Elizabeth Holmes case and would get SO angry if I had a different opinion.

You just have to shrug, say, agree to disagree and ignore. Don't get emotional.

I agree. Don't bring up this part but appeal to his knowledge as a scientist. And then don't agree to his ideas. I had to do this with someone. I said, I'll never agree to your ideas about this and I think people need pushback.

I got into reading about abductions, John Mack, etc., a long time ago. I don't believe any of it and I don't think there is alien life out there. But it was an interesting topic for a while because it was so weird. The more I read, the less I believe it. I think anything credibly "unknown" is most likely a military craft, ours, something secret, spies. For instance I think people probably saw B-2 bombers which could look like a UFO, as their shape is not like a usual jet, secretly flying years before they were shown to the public. Of course the military is not going to confirm or deny.

It makes zero sense that there are aliens who don’t want us to know they are here yet keep being seen, and have physics-defying technology yet keep crashing into the ground.

I find this whole thing fascinating!

I am not all that really into UFO-type stories, but if he’s read some things that made him realize that our govt knows more than what they disclose about it, I’d bet that made him more likely to view claims of “it’s a conspiracy!” with more of a mind that is open to hearing it than someone who thinks the whole UFO thing is ridiculous and fake.

For example, those who have read the now-declassified Operation Northwoods document , are much more likely to fathom that certain agencies in our government could have orchestrated 9/11. Others will roll their eyes and refuse to think that’s even a possibility.

But, there have definitely been studies to show that it’s much easier to fool a huge number of people than it is to convince that same number that they have been a victim of a hoax or a huge lie.
