I use a moisturizing saline spray with aloe. CVS has it. The key for me is the spray before bed and a humidifier on my nightstand. Occasionally need the spray mid morning, but overnight seems to control it well. There are also mini humidifiers that can sit on a desk; mine died but our last snowy winter I relied on it to combat the heat being on all the time.

Nasya oil is an ayurvedic treatment that is amazing. It’s sesame oil infused with herbs. I highly recommend it.

I do Ayr Gel with a Q tip. If you need something thicker, I’d opt for something like lanolin (they make 100% pure forms for breastfeeding, so it’s often sold in the baby section). I’ve used that in a pinch, but never all the way up with the Q Tip.

When my mother had nosebleeds from dryness, the doctors told her to use antibiotic cream. I’ve tried it and don’t like the feel (especially the ones with a bit of lidocaine), but I once saw a study that found antibiotic cream in the nostrils leads to a local immune reaction that may protect against inhaled viruses. So if you ever need it to do double-duty, eg when flying, that’s an option.

This is exactly the treatment docs recommend for persistent nosebleeds.

DO NOT use petroleum (Vaseline) in your nostrils. Ultimately it is inhaled into your lungs where it stays forever.

Another vote for Ayr gel, plus sleeping with a humidifier.

The steroid sprays aren't going to do anything for dryness. I do recommend one of the gel sprays or vaseline.
