Not sure if they said so because we have 2 more weeks until the referral deadline or if there’s some info that I am not aware of. Anyone knows anything about cogat score being released soon?
The referrals are due next week. Don’t they need the cogat score for the packets?
We should get them before next week?

Final results are released just before December 15th (which is the deadline for the full time AAP parental referral submission
How does a parent know if they even want to apply without the score though?
If it's not clear your kid needs AAP without the CogAt score they probably don't need AAP.
If you don't want to do the work for the packet you can just roll the dice on being in pool
Even if you're in pool, doing the packet is very helpful. It allows you to present your case that your child requires advanced academics. Otherwise you don't get to make that case and rely on the teacher and AART making it for you.
Can you please explain what being in the pool means? Private parent learning. I thought the only way to get into an AAP program is to go to school that offers and complete the AAP process. Asking for FCPS middle school.
Most of the info is here:

In-pool = universal screener = kid scored well enough that they are basically going to submit a referral packet on your student's behalf. You can choose to supplement with your own referral, or just let the school handle it. This only applies to students who have been in FCPS since sometime prior to Jan 1 2024. The other cases are also detailed in the linked page.
