There are Arhaus couches for under 2k. The more expensive ones also go on sale sometimes.

We've had a $900 Ikea one for over 10 years and it's still great. Certainly has a few wear spots, but I am not in a rush to replace it until someone falls through it while sitting down.

I have a Crate and Barrel couch that I really like. I've had it for about 10 years now. It's starting to show some wear, so will probably get a new one in the next 2-3 years or so. But it has been very, very comfortable.

I got it after having an Ikea Ektorp for about a year, which was so bad I virtually never sat on it.

I’m very happy with our Macys Radley couch. We got the leather one on sale for about $1800 or so.

You want to look for:

Kiln dried, hardwood frame
Made in NC
Performance fabric
The cushion construction is kind of up to you. Firm foam would be the most durable, but maybe not the most comfortable. Tight back would be the easiest to maintain I think. But again, perhaps not the most comfortable.

macy's. we have 2 in our fmily room (every day use) going on 6 years now. definitely not falling apart!

Maiden Home is awesome. A bit more expensive than you were looking to pay but several options under 3k.

We’ve bought multiple sofas that are very comfortable as well as several chairs and all are looking and feeling good as new.

Their customer service has been great too. One chair had a minor problem 2 years into owning it that I reached out about, and they sent us a whole new chair. Their performance fabrics are great too. Highly recommend.

How big do you need? I’ve been really happy with our couch from Room and Board. Some of the smaller sizes are in your price range. Some are a bit more … but if you’ve bought a couple of cheaper couches and had to throw them away, you’d probably be better off getting something just a bit more expensive that you can keep a long time.

If you’re the kind of person who will get a new couch in 5 years anyway, disregard.

Yes! We have this one too. Bought in 2012, looks and feels just as good as it did when we bought it minus a few small stains that I think I could probably get out if I worked hard enough and aren't very noticeable and I have small kids so I don't really care. It hasn't gotten saggy at all. Still very comfortable. We have moved with it 3 times! I would definitely recommend it.
