Sure DJT will let them go after some low hanging fruit - programs no longer in existence but still funded etc - to show Maga how much he saved. But I don’t think this results in the massive - dump half the Feds - changes that Maga is cheering for that Feds obviously fear.
No Elon is going to mass fire government employee he has told us this believe them
Exactly. Everything coming out of the Trump administration should be considered true at all times, because there has been no prior evidence of lying or overblown promises from this group. Yes.

it's not a new government agency. Guessing the funding isn't coming from government. So maybe someone with a X account can ask him directly where he funding to run DOGE is coming from.

This is just more smoke for the base. It's what Trump always does -- say outlandish stuff, promise the moon, and then not deliver. Oh, they'll probably do two tiny things that they can use for headlines, but I doubt they even need to do that. They can just lie and say it happened, because their base will believe it.

I think agency leads figure out a way to keep top performers in this scenario. This isn't the first presidency to halt pay increases. So, sure a certain percentage will leave (certainly I think a lot of attorneys, esp in finreg space) but there are so many Feds in the GS 14 and under and so many superfluous positions even in the finregs, where you wont see attrition because for these folks, getting a job in the private sector is a pretty hard threshold.
