For 2 years, the account has been posting bog standard MCPS content, including football scores, announcements of Central Office initiatives, and notes on activities at the school. It has been retweeted by official MCPS accounts.

If the principal says it isn't his account, I believe him, but it's not a spoof or prank about unless it is a far longer con than most folks can pull off.

I am writing to inform you that there is a fake social media account associated with my name and Walt Whitman High School. The Twitter/X account @WWHS_Bethesda is not affiliated with me as principal or Walt Whitman High School. The official Whitman Twitter/X account is @WaltWhitmanMCPS. I am not on any social media platforms, and the most effective way to communicate with me is through email. We are actively collaborating with Twitter/X to have the fake account taken down.

There were several emails send to parents yesterday about racist texts received by students (across the county) there was no email from the principal about this town hall.

There was a town hall - students went home and told their parents about it. It's not a fake account on X - it says it's the official account of Whitman HS and has been posting things relating specifically to Whitman since 2022.

That is a good stunt
