So you mean your child is gifted ? op's question is not whether the child is gifted or not . she clearly said she just moved to AAP and she is just trying to understand .

Your child is not gifted. Your child is above average. That's all you need to know.

FWIW, I-Ready percentiles are not very sensitive to individual differences at the top, as you can tell by the range of raw scores captured by 99th.

Also take "at grade level" with a grain of salt. This is relative to SOL, not relative other peers in the class. The child could still be advanced in some areas beyond grade level but that might not be well captured by the I-Ready.

Your kid scored 99 percentile - do you just want confirmation that she’s top of the top or are you worried she might be one of many among peers?It’s 4th grade and your kid is doing fine — Stop comparing her to others or you (and she) will have very long road ahead. The pressure and stress start right here w you.

If you don't like the question, you can save yourself the stress and just skip on over it. There are others that will be happy to answer OP without getting exasperated and lecturing.

My 4th grader AAP iready scores are at grade level.

AAP 4th graders will range from early/approaching 4th all the way to 3 years above level. They're only going to have national percentiles and not locally normed ones. I would guess that your kid is above average, but not tremendously so, for her AAP class.

Just as a reference point, I looked up both of my kids' math iready scores for fall of 4th grade. One kid got a 507 (which is 98th percentile, but don't worry. DC was in gen ed and not polluting your kid's AAP experience. They did qualify easily for Algebra in 7th). My other got a 604 (He had a 560 in fall of 2nd grade, before we did any supplementing). There will be a small handful of kids with extremely high scores in your kid's AAP center.
