College Park is very hard to get into. So if you want an in state back up, apply to Morgan State, especially if you are black. My kid is white and I told him to apply to Morgan State and he did not and now we are paying private tuition.
Very familiar with Morgan's engineering program. Engineering is the strongest program on campus. Relatively easy to get honors college full ride scholarship or other partial scholarships. White folks welcome!

Similar to Olin is The Cooper Union in NYC. Everyone gets a minimum 50% off tuition scholarship, so tuition is $22k. They have civil engineering. Hell of a deal, to attend a top rated engineering school in the heart of NYC.
