Maybe RD, but need a backup plan.

Only because of the B's?

Georgia resident with ‘24 kid. UGA’s admissions are relatively holistic, even for in-state, and not always numbers-driven, based upon what I’ve seen. A 4.0, 1500/34 in-state makes it easier but there’s still room for applicants below the 4.0/1500 threshold. Don’t let a few B’s discourage you.

My son had 6 Bs, mostly in AP and got in EA with a 1400 - but that was in 2018. Things have gotten harder since then for both in state and oos.

For EA, the 6 Bs will be hard to get past. I think probably should help set expectations that EA at UGA is really going to pull the top GPAs and test scores. For RD, definitely better chance. I personally know several kids who got in last year and year before with around 6 Bs (give or take).

I honestly have no idea how it will go!!! Thoughts?

I just posted about my daughter. I also had a son who graduated from UGA in 2022. He got in 2018 and standards were lower then, so I'm not going to give his info.

You cannot count on anything at UGA, but I wouldn't worry too much. I think she is good.

One thing - please look at her common app. I've heard about people who filled out the grid with grades incorrectly. Make sure you gave her credit for AP classes for two semesters, not just one (unless they changed the wording). I do think they will catch an error, but I'm not so sure that they will catch it before EA - if you think it is wrong, get in touch with school. Not trying to panic you, but the UGA grade section (at least used to) take a lot of concentration!

My daughter is a current junior at UGA She was OOS. She had a 4.10 UGA GPA, from a high school they seem to think highly of. 32 ACT. She only had on B at school and only 2 AP at the time of application (plus a very AP heavy schedule senior year) Got in EA.
Had 2 friends with nearly identical stats also got in EA.

I think the key is very very few Bs for EA. Two, maybe three for EA.

For RD, it gets much more relaxed.

Good luck. My junior has similar stats and UGA is high on her list. Please update when you know. Fingers crossed it's an admit The school would be lucky to have your DD.

Sounds like a strong applicant. I say admit. Good luck!

I’m glad they recalculate. My DC will have 11 APs and even with all As, can’t have a 4.5.

Don't forget they have their own special formula for GPA.....they do not give extra points for DE classes.

I’d say admit with those stats
