So is QOHS.

That’s why so many Kentlands/Lakelands families send their kids to private school.

I am not sure if Rachel Carson is not good, but I do know the middle school for that cluster is terrible.

As a teacher who has taught many years in ES and then also MS-

Being in tbe 99th percentile is almost worse. Curriculum in MCPS is awful. Behavior management at a system level is awful.

My personal kid is private. I’d like her to know how to read when she grows up.

not for or against this sentiment, but i would like to hear more. why is there a perception that “Rachel Carson is just not good enough”?

does anyone have recent first hand experience sending their child there?

why have parents sent their kids to RCES vs to privates schools if living in kentlands?

It's not Rachel Carso which is one of the few elementaries with an in-house magnet. Its that public school isn't good enough. And, let's be honest, it's not.

To be honest, most private is not good enough either, but to each their own.

We are very happy with our kid’s public school, however. Kid is 99 percentile (MAP), loves school, great teachers and students.

Keep deluding yourself.

My kid is also 99th percentile and public school would’ve been awful.

This is a stereotype.

I’m a Kentlands mom who works and sends my kid to private school. There are only 2 SAHMs in my kid’s private school class.

You must be at a lesser private.

My kid is at Norwood.

As a sahp, it is rare to find a private or public school that would be good enough. But if you got money to burn.
