Not really talking about conservative families who still vote conservative - but left-leaning families where the child is staking out a different position from the family. If so, what was the deciding issue or issues for them?

Biden and Democrats have done nothing to tackle affordable educatation and student loan debt, they don't like the crime increase in cities, don't like inflation, and are concerned about the numbers of undocumented migrants coming into the country. They had no idea who random kids would be who'd show up in schools in their classes during some years and then completely disappear the next year. Supposedly one of the guys who was a sophomore in high school with them admitted to being something like a 23 year old guy. He could get in because he had no verifiable identity.
Wow.
Biden and the Dems have done a ton to help higher education costs and relieve student debt, but they cannot "dictate" the cost of college.
Crime is generally not up in cities (it is in DC) and per capita, crime is higher in red states than blue states.
Inflation was a result of COVID and is back to where it was before COVID. Again, a president cannot dictate the cost of good and services.
For all of these issues, what are Trump's plans? How is he going to reduce costs or the price of education?
I am woe'd for the lack of education and critical thinking if this is how students these days are "doing their research"
If the Biden government thought they could eliminate student debt, then the possibility of dictating the cost of college should also be possible. It has been litigated on shaky terms, but why does an out-of-state student cost more to educate than in-state? When that out-of-state debt is then financed, it creates problems with repayment and then it must be reduced or eliminated through government mandate. Lower the cost of eduation by lowering the cost of out-of-state tuition or by raising the % of in-state students. Not a be all end all.
btw - crime is up. crime is also up in cities in red states where the population is mostly blue.
btw - if inflation is up bc of covid then most things trump need to be forgiven because of covid.
I'm afraid your critical thinking is also lacking.
Joy
He woefully mismanaged COVID
1) he closed the forward State Department office in Wuhan charged with monitoriing exactly what happened.
2) he tossed the Bush/Obama Pandemic Playbook out the window thinking he "knew better"
3) he fronted stock market trades
4) he gave Putin detection machines that our hospitals could have used
5) He "shut everything down" but not for long enough to isolate the virus, and then
6) succumbed to pressure to "open things up" by Easter, so it was the worst of both worlds in terms of both harming the economy and then not mitigating and spread
7) he wouldn't repeat admonitions to mask up, distance etc
8) he suggested quack medicines were effective when they weren't
Really, other than "operation warp speed" which he hasn't mentioned once this campaign, everything he did was wrong, so yes, he deserves every bit of blame that he has received.
