Have all the schools graduate the school fields or any of the 3 campuses at MC.
Is MC big enough for all schools to graduate at? If so, then MCPS should let all the schools graduate at any of the MC campuses.

We’re experienced at navigating DC, and don’t have a huge number of family members clamoring to sit through the tedium of a high school graduation. I can see how others might not be happy with it, but you can’t please everyone. At least it’s a nice venue, not a vast concrete arena like the one I graduated in (not MCPS).
But I’m curious: who were the decision-makers this year? I’d understood in the past that it was up to the individual schools, and ours had always at least nominally sought opinions from seniors and their families. But this year the announcement just… appeared.
Was it a central office decision this year, or did schools still have the final say? And are schools still paying for the venue and associated expenses?

On the field/in the stadium at the local school would be fine. Sorry if they can’t hand out 12 tickets per family.
But clearly this senior’s parent’s opinion doesn’t matter to the decision makers.
Were you not asked? Our school asked for opinions. I’m not sure if they really use the feedback but they do ask for it.
I did have a child also graduate last year at UMBC and it was totally fine. I’m not sure why everyone is so against it. It’s one day- a celebratory one at that. Even if it takes a little extra driving, isn’t seeing your child graduate worth it???
