I know you think it is cute, but election workers have to deal with your "cute idea" by following serious procedures.

PLEASE don't write in silly names or your friends or family.

+1

Thank you for taking on this role, PP. Election officers like you are essential to making elections work.

That’s amazing. Did he serve as the deputy sheriff?

Yup! It had pretty minimal responsibilities.

Is this illegal or just foolish?

Neither. Just stupid and ignorant.

So, why bother even showing up if you aren't going to vote?

Because there are more than the presidential elections going on? I swear to god, how are people this stupid?

+1

And non-presidential candidates have, in fact, won solely on write-in votes.

Tell us how these scofflaws would get caught and the appropriate punishment.

I’m an election officer. At the end of the day, the machine prints out the results for the precinct. Generally, you have Candidate A: x number of votes, Candidate B: x number of votes.

For write ins, the machine prints off the name of each write in candidate. In 2016, the print out went on and on, there were so many write ins! And, yes, it was interesting to see all the different names people wrote in.

I should write in ‘God’ or some variation, because seeing how things are we need a lot more help than these candidates can provide!

Not illegal
It is foolish and immature and ultimately fruitless.

It demonstrates that they don't realize how privileged they are to have the ability to vote.

I'd also wager that 0% of those people do anything that matters to get the choices they'd like on the ballot.
