We have one car, 2 sets of keys and three people it’s never a problem
Knowing my kid, losing or locking his key in the trunk will be probably the most likely problem.
As a teenager who locked the door with the key in the ignition multiple times, I was always super glad my mom kept the spare on her key ring.
It was a long struggle but I have finally broken my wife of her terrible technique and have taught my children correctly:
The only way to lock the doors is by using the key fob after you have closed all the doors and are walking away. If you lock the keys in the ignition, you will be taking the bus home and waiting on the doorstep.
I'm a total softy pushover as a dad but I am a tyrant on this ridiculous issue.
