The hipaa laws would prevent her from discussing this information with others, but it seems unlikely that there are internal protections to prevent her from viewing clients’s financial records since that would be part of her job. If you are being billed regularly for embryo storage then she probably has access to those records.

This women violated a medical privacy law and workplace confidentiality agreement. Your husband needs to tell her that he'll report her to her boss. She could be fired for talking about the clients.

But she can't tell anyone.
Snarking to you likely is not HIPPA violation but could get her fired "client confidence in professionalism of company."
Be glad she doesn't do freezer maintenance?

Think "test tube baby" type of comment. But today I found out where she works and I looked it up to find out in what capacity and now I'm less sure about coincidence. But, no way to really know.
Is it an EMR? All those systems have login credentials and you could tell if she viewed your account. You can submit a request saying you think your privacy was invaded based on her comment. 90% chance you will be blown off the first pass and you will have to keep checking

How so? Genuinly asking. If she came upon this information during her regular duites and just recognized their names, she didn't violate anything.
