If people's posts annoy me, I snooze them. If this happens several times and their posts aren't that great otherwise, I unfollow. And if I want to send a message, I unfriend. I might still be nice in public, but I don't need to be friends with everyone on social media.

OP, why is it you don't feel you are entitled to a preference?
You should know you can. You should be a stronger person, a person with some preferences. Preferences you act on.
