I can’t wear because it feels weird going up and down stairs. Like it’s restricting my legs from flexing correctly. Maybe it’s just me and my way of walking?

I know it's in style, but they are just so horribly unflattering if you're not 5'10 and built like a model.

Op here - mine are all knee length. At 5’2 that everlane midi pencil skirt someone else posted will have me looking short and stumpy.

Same. I have two knit ones but I'll probably get rid of them because with short legs they look best with heels and I'm just not interested in being uncomfortable.

Thanks to this thread, I dug out my old pencil skirts. I don’t like exposing my legs in cold so I have tomorrow and then next spring

Wear the silhouettes that look good on you, OP.

Yes they are from the era that clothes were figure flattering.

They always look good in the right context including the office.

I don’t complain about my 50s midsection very often, but I had to let pencil skirts go.

+1. I had one that I loved so much — grey with a very subtle pinstripe. I could wear it with a black sweater, white button down. Even a white tee and it looked great. But menopause turned it into a lumpy sausage.
