Newspapers don't really have a good way to make money in this age.

I can see that they now feel economic pressures to not alienate different groups of readers just like for-profit businesses.

But of course this means that the days of believing newspapers are working for the good of the general population are over.

I don't think a major news organization should be endorsing a candidate even though we all know the incredible bias of the WaPo. The fact that they chose this race to not endorse a democratic candidate for the first time ever says everything you need to about the candidate running unfortunately.

It's the editorial board, i.e., the opinion pages. The same section that writes opinions on the candidates and elected officials from different perspectives/biases, which is why people like George Will continue to show up in the Post. Editorials are are not "news" but they offer ways for readers to think about the news.

Canceling Post because can no longer trust it and the employees will live in fear from now on. Don’t expect that to hurt Bezos. Canceling Amazon because if enough of us do it can do damage.
Meanwhile anyone up for boycotting Tesla?

What!? How?

There used to be an option if you signed up with a government email. That was stopped a few months ago though. I guess they were losing too much money to give it away for free.

WaPo’s political reporting already amounts to a daily endorsement of Harris.

Twitter thread from the LA Times owner's daughter. The non-endorsement was over Israel/Gaza, not Trump or taxes.

This. Post reporters are disgusted.

No this option ended months ago. Govt employees no longer get the Post free. Nothing is free, can’t you see?

Let’s not be Pollyanna. News agencies are biased. Failing to endorse equals endorsement of Trump.

Just did. Appalling. Will they care? Who will this hurt? Certainly not Bezo’s. We are screwed. The nation and world is about to be run by 3 tyrannical (read between the lines) men.

I’m sure Bezos wouldn’t mind losing the MSNBC crowd as a core subscriber base, along with any journalist who would quit in protest. The fact that so many journalists that are obviously ideologically committed left wing liberals have not quit says everything there is to know.

Nah it just says they like getting paychecks which most of us do. That is about it.
