Physical book: 20-30 minutes after everyone's been put to bed.
Book on my phone: a few minutes at a time whenever I have a pause, like riding an elevator or waiting at the doctor's.

I listen to audiobooks when commuting, jogging, and doing housework. My rate is 2 per month.

I read to my youngest for an hour a night and choose them with them in mind, so it's usually children's literature that also appeals to adults.

I rarely have time to read, but I usually have a book with me and will read it during sports practices, etc.

I feel like I'm the only dinosaur left who brings a "waiting book" instead of scrolling a phone.

You are not alone! I find reading while waiting makes shutting out everything for a while infinitely easier.

Are you listening at lunch or reading? If reading, do you always have 2 books going?

I read a physical book or my Kindle at lunch. I typically have 2-3 books going at once. I always have one going on audio and a different one or two going in print/Kindle.

If I’m going to be in my car for more than a few minutes I listen to an Audible book. It keeps my commute sane. Just finished War by Bob Woodward. I always have a hard cover going and try to get in at least 30 minutes a day. At 6 am I read the paper for 45 minutes.

At kid sport practices or any appointment where I am waiting.

Honestly, if it's a really good book - sometimes I wake up at 3am and read to try to fall asleep and then read until 5am. Did that last night. Don't recommend but it was a great book!

Which book?!

I’m not the PP but I always have a book I’m reading and a book I’m listening to. I have different criteria for the two so they they’re generally two different kinds of books.

I read at night because it makes me tired and it’s a great way for me to ease into going to sleep. I read during the day if I’m at the pool or beach but otherwise very rarely.

I listen to audiobooks during the day while I’m doing things (I work full-time but will pop my air pods in when I walk the dogs in the morning, empty the dishwasher, switch the laundry, etc.).

I'm a night owl, and I read every night from about 11:45 to 12:45. I read until I find myself re-reading the same paragraph multiple times and then I zonk out.

I pretty much don't read any other time, unless I'm on vacation.

What time do you wake up?!?

I’ve never been a night owl, I’ve always been an early bird, but I stayed up until 11:30 last night because we were out at an event and I thought I was going to die.

After dinner - I don't watch TV or do much internet scrolling. During the day, I'll read over my lunch break some days, unless I'm working out then. And I read while I'm waiting around for my kids - at music lessons, sports practices, doctor appointments, etc. Like a PP, I always have a book with me.

When I'm scrolling reddit, I'll say "I should read my book". That is during the work day. At night I read about 30-60 minutes because TV is boring.
