I thought my kid had a great “story” and application but got in nowhere that Scior didn’t say was a very good shot.

Platforms like SCOIR and Schoolinks eat Naviance for breakfast. Naviance is living in the past.

Which, of course, explains why fcps still uses naviance.

Also how is it that ALL the scattergram in naviance have the checks and Xs showing test scores. How do they factor in the admitted students during the last few years who went “test optional” by not submitting scores? How would one even compare that data?

FCPS had to trim the budget due to insufficient funding. Zero new projects this year.

So so accuracy. You may wind up aiming low because of these charts so getting into school may seem great but was it really? Kids have to agree to be in. Doesn’t show rigor ie is it AP or regular. Doesn’t take into account kids who are not taking four year of all major subjects. You would be surprised how many drop language or lab science or even math after minimum requirement. Keep this in mind and use as one of many tools.

^same. But, my son was deferred for one like that and then accepted RD.

It was very accurate for him.

Small schools don’t typically allow scatter grams as it’s too easy to identify particular students.

FYI I have access to my older child’s scatter grams from their school even though they graduated. Nice to see the cut offs.

It’s very aggravating that DC’s school does not allow access to the scattergram data. We have no way of seeing that information. SCOIR is relatively useless for us.

Seriously? That’s awful. I don’t know what we would have done without scattergrams. They were the single most useful tool in providing an actual realistic view of how admissions would go.
