Virginia ham is a great substitute. I don’t no, we’re all these people pretending that you can’t find that same flavor profile in a local ham actually got off, and taste very similar and it’s a very mild flavored ham that substitutes well for jambon de Paris

Another name can be "jambon blanc", which is what we call it in France, even though it's pink and not white 
It's not smoked in the regular recipe but some might use that kind if they choose to.
