It took days for the school to dry out. They installed large industrial fans in the corridors.
The school had to evacuate that day, and the line of cars that converged on Westland blocked the Little Falls Pkwy intersection with River Road AND the intersection with Massachusetts Ave, because the Principal wanted adults picking up the kids to show ID. It was an unholy mess until she gave up and let the kids out to fend for themselves.
My older kid had planned on picking up his sister for the first time ever, with his new driver's license. He got a little more than he bargained for, plus a couple more kids who hitched a ride in his car. Memorable day all around.

I'm betting the student will not be charged financially for the damage they caused. And I'm betting some mental health excuse will be used to justify the property destruction.
They'll be part of a restorative justice circle and get to talk about their feelings.
Who else would be there to talk to? The sink?

Anonymous wrote:Sounds like some kid kicked a sink, knocking it off the wall and causing water to spray everywhere. They have had to shut off the water and are sending kids home. On parent visiting day. I hope they can ID this kid and there are serious consequences.
I am furious.

There is no identifying person in the video- just the water coming out of the wall and the flooded halls. Not sure how to take a video off of a SM chat but will encourage the student who has the video to report it directly.

Send your son's video footage to MoCo 360 or MoCo Show. The only thing MCPS responds to is media spotlight or lawsuits.
