Try the target brand- they are exactly like the old tampax- the newly redesigned tampax definitely don't work for me anymore, but the target brand is perfect

I've heard this too--also heard that the Target brand was like the old Tampax (but of course all of their brand changed to up and up, so not sure if the products changed too). But haven't tried for myself yet.

I love the Diva Cup. I find I have zero stink with it, unlike previously when I used tampons. The seal is so much better that no odors escape, and no leaks either. I empty mine twice a day and usually don't wear it overnight either.

I plan on trying this sometime. So many people like it. I tried "instead" when I was younger. Same concept, but not at all the same in terms of eco-impact, etc. It was fine. A bit messy, but otherwise okay.

It's like a silky nylon type of fabric. It doesn't melt away or anything.

I've never tried OB, so many people here have suggested it, I must give it a try. I hear the PP on the dryness, even a normal tampon can be a problem without the "gentle glide" applicator.

Not the PP, but I'm a fan of the Diva Cup. I think you can leave it in for up to 24 hours, but I certainly never have. I imagine most women don't. I empty it something like 2-3 times a day and typically don't wear it overnight. (Diva Cup or tampon, I like to give it a rest overnight.) It took some getting used to, but it's no problem for me now. It's very comfortable. And bonus, I never run out of tampons.

Your flow postpartum is also usually really heavy for several cycles. So, going to a higher absorbency and a back up pad on the first day or so may be in order. It's what I had to do, in addition to changing a super tampon every hour at the start of the cycle. It was annoying! Good luck!

An alternative to OB is NaturaCare (I think that's the spelling). They are applicator-free, and unbleached all-cotton. They also come in larger sizes (super plus) and I haven't had problems with them.

I used OB for a long time, but eventually I switched (didn't like the small amount of nylon nor the thought of all the chlorine bleach) and I've been very happy with them. (They sell them at Whole Foods and MOM or YES around here.)

Also, it is maybe obvious, but I would use a pad backup and change them more frequently (I'm a tall woman and need to do this on heavy flow days even with the larger size; I kind of shudder to think about what's going to happen post-birth!).
