Because it tastes good.

Good grief, you going to monitor and ask questions about the way your husband wipes his ass too after taking a poo? MYOB.

Have you tried punishing him for exercising?

I ran a marathon and a half marathon in two Central European countries. Both times, I got a non-alcoholic beer in the end-of-race goodie bag. Apparently it helps with rehydration. Someone also told me the carbs and vitamin B helps, and the diuretic effect helps to prevent excess lactic acid buildup in muscles. (I was never given a beer after marathons or halfs run in the US).

But I like sweet, dark beer anyway, and yes, it tastes really good after a run. Clearly there is something there that the body craves.

Its a cold beverage and he enjoys the taste.

I am not sure why it matters. I rarely drink cold drinks unless I am really hot, otherwise I drink everything at room temperature.

Sometimes I feel like having a cider, sometimes I feel like having a glass of wine, sometimes I feel like having a tea, sometimes I feel like having water, sometimes I feel like having a diet coke.

I am an adult, I drink what I want, when I want....in moderation. Just like your husband is doing. Does he monitor what you drink?

My boyfriend worked on Amish farms when he was in high school and college in Ohio.

The male Amish farmers always had a single beer with their lunch on the hot summer days and it accompanied their trail baloney sandwiches. The Amish wives brought lunch and the cold beer out to the fields where their husbands were working.

I suspect the single beer was refreshing on a hot summer day after 5 hours of physical work in the hot sun. Amish farmers have probably been drinking a beer at lunch for 100's of years.

You’re overthinking this. It’s an ice cold beverage.

I drink one after mowing the lawn in the summer. It feels like the right thing to do.

It sounds like you are looking for reasons to find fault with your spouse. This will not end well.

He'd probably like to have more than one.

Also guessing he uses the activity as an excuse to have one, cause his wife sounds like a controlling narcissistic woman.

On a hot day after tennis, yard work etc he loves a cold beer. Otherwise he never has one. I think that’s very normal.

While they usually get away with it, because their addiction passes as "healthy", a lot of runners are addicted to the high. Comboing w/ a beer is typical cross-addiction, and "rewarding" oneself with one's drug of choice is also addict behavior.

Everyone will lash out at me now because I said "addict", and the behavior will still be addict behavior, especially if he can't go without, gets grouchy when you mention it, etc.
