I’m almost 39 and feeling this way. :/

Depends on the woman. The healthier you are, the less required.

Bs. Light skinned women with pale eyelashes and lips aren’t necessarily “unhealthy.”

I'm the opposite. I have very dark brown hair and brows, olive skin, and green eyes. All I do is curl my lashes and put on clear lip gloss. Everything else seems pointless.

I posed above that make up ways looks fake on me (vs enhancing), maybe these women are similar? Especially my eyes- concealer settles into the lines and makes my existing bags/darkness look worse if I try to conceal.

Now that I'm post- 50-- I look much better with some concealer and tinted moisturizer.

I don't need much make-up. I've never worn heavy make-up. But, I look more vibrant, livelier with a little mascara, shadow and definitely lip color.

What are they signaling? That makeup isn't a required element to be good at your job?

I definitely don't feel like I can leave the house without a little eyeliner and concealer. I think I look awful without it. But most people would consider me attractive (for now, I'm 47) when I do my "no makeup makeup" as best I can.

But hair I need to do something with. Mine is 2B-3A (depending on the layer) wavy. Actually spending a few minutes to plop it overnight and style it in the morning goes a long way.

Most husbands say this. They're clueless.

As I get older I’ve learned that I definitely need under eye concealer to go anywhere lest I look like a hospice patient. And a sheer foundation and cream blush works wonders. My hair? Still working on it but I agree about the top bun - it helps for some reason. Don’t usually do my lips. When I have mascara on, people notice (in a positive way).
