I don’t think anyone really cares about it. On a resume, if you speak another language, just write fluent in Spanish or Arabic or whatever

My junior just took and passed the Spanish SOB given at the high school. No outside preparation. Current level Spanish 5. Said it wasn't very difficult but still felt proud of accomplishment and plans to use on resume for local summer opportunities.

Yes, and are the students immersion students, started language in middle school, or high school? That makes a difference.

I would think the SOB would good to put on a resume or mention in cover letter if a job involves speaking the language.

My son took the SOB test during his senior year for the Spanish test. He was able to pass and got the medal award for his graduation.

Though it's not really a valuable award, he wanted to take the test simply so he could feel good about getting the reward he wanted.

My dd used hers to get out of taking a foreign language at UPenn. It was also mentioned in her admissions notes so her AO thought it was important. She also had 3 years of French, 2 of the years in HS. The SOL was in Italian although we don’t speak it at home she went to Saturday school for 8 years. She thought all 3 tests were simple but her schooo was teaching for the test in the last 3 years.
