I feel the same way about everything you listed but I still liked it!

He looks mangy and feral. The hair on his head is patchy, and so is his facial hair. As if he is actually affected by mange. Very sad.

I’m half Jewish and the stereotypes really bugged me. Along with Bell’s aforementioned lip issue.

On the other hand, I think Adam Brody is really cute and see that in real life he’s a secular Jew.

I think the promotion and reviews are all paid for..like a bad cosmetic ( an awful product that has so much play online people are shocked at what a bad product it is.. but can't admit it as they plunked too $$ down.)
Comments online reveal the true review- very dumb show. Disappointed, frankly. Watched 2 episodes and had enough. How did these half formed immature personalities actually make it on to the screen in a script?

I think it’s filler.


I think it’s simply that she is a comedic actress in a role that requires a broad range of emotional expression who does not have a wrinkle on her face or much mobility at all due to a good deal of cosmetic intervention. The actresses in the rom coms of the 80s or 90s didn’t have Botox or filler. I was a bit distracted by how limited her expression was in her eyes but not enough to really consciously register it prior to reading this thread. It’s a difference from the last series she did (“the woman in the house across the street blah blah blah”). I was still able to enjoy watching her though.

PP here. I just finished it and by the end was enjoying it a lot. I’ll watch season 2, for sure.

Yes something with her lips. It's actually more distracting because it's only noticeable when she's not smiling -- when she smiles her face looks normal. But then when she's not there is something going on with the area between her nostrils and her lips (agree with PP it's probably filler). So I found myself being like "she looks normal -- wait no something is off -- no now it looks normal -- no oops there it is again." Extremely distracting.

She is a beautiful woman. I wish we could just let these women age normally. I am totally fine with a few wrinkles around your lips it's fine.
PP - this is it exactly - it’s when she’s not smiling! And that’s exactly my thought process - “what is amiss and why does she look so different when nothing obv different / oh wait, there she is, pretty as always — woah, no, there it is again.” And then I hate myself for even thinking about it and said that actors don’t truly have the professional flexibility to age like the rest of us.

When she meets the rabbi she suggest they both share something embarrassing and her embarrassing thing is that she has a "clear" mole on her face removed and she thinks the scar from the removal is more noticeable than the mole was.

The weird thing with her lip is not a mole removal scar. She either had filler in her upper lip to plump/erase fine lines or filler in her smile lines or both.

There was that sort of throwaway line in the first episode where she’s trying to share something embarrassing when they first meet and says something about a scar on her upper lip. I couldn’t see anything but I wonder if they made that the “thing” because her upper lip does have a weird look to it.
